Technically speaking, BDY shares have been moving slightly higher since the beginning of February, and may be assisted by a recent bullish cross of their 10-day and 20-day moving averages. In today's session, BDY has advanced slightly but has failed to overcome longer-term resistance in the form of its 10-week trendline. Additional strength could be in the stock's future, as suggested by findings on Schaeffer's Sentiment PowerTools (http://www.schaeffersresearch.com/powertoolsobs). Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR SOIR Schaeffer's Put/Call Open Interest Ratio

PowerTools reveals that, following the limited selection of examples of SOIR percentile ranks between 61 and 66, BDY has significantly outperformed its typical price action over the ensuing 20-day period. SOIR is, however, poised to adjust following today's option activity. Nearly 9,000 contracts have changed hands on the near-the-money March 25 call, which had previously been home to just over 4,000 open contracts. The March 20 put and the July 30 call are also enjoying notable activity in today's session.

Same-store sales were up eight percent during the period. In other fundamental news, the company boosted its annual dividend payout by 20 percent to 48 cents per share. The first quarterly sum will be distributed on March 16 to shareholders of record by March 5. LTD has enjoyed a nice uptrend over the past year, nearly doubling in value since late-February's bottom. Sentiment analysis indicates that the speculative community has taken note of this advance by turning more optimistic toward the equity. First, SOIR for the stock has plunged lower since mid-December to its present reading of 0.13, which is lower than 81 percent of the past year's worth of readings. 3. Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) is in the news today after last night's report that the California public employees' retirement system will not support Michael Eisner's bid for reappointment reappointment Hospital practice The renewal of medical staff membership and privileges of a practitioner whose previous service on the medical staff has met the staff's standard of Pt care. Earlier today, the New York State Common Retirement Fund (at $118 billion, it is one of the country's biggest pension funds) said it will also not support Eisner's future at DIS. The company's stock price is taking this news in stride, however, and has even managed to rise slightly in today's trading. Prior to Comcast's unanticipated buyout offer, DIS shares had been in an uptrending mode for almost a year. For the past two weeks, the stock has been digesting the hefty gains enjoyed following this surprise offer. On the options front, SOIR for DIS reached an annual high in early January and quickly plunged to an annual low of 0.35 on February 10. The sentiment indicator now stands at 0.47, in the 11th annual percentile.
