With slightly less than an hour to go in this Wednesday session on the Street, the SPX stands alone as the sole index in the green. At last check, the SPX was up a mere 0.81 points, compared to a loss of 4.1 points on the Dow and a 0.1-point loss on the Nasdaq Composite The Nasdaq Composite is a stock market index of all of the common stocks and similar securities (e.g. ADRs, tracking stocks, limited partnership interests) listed on the NASDAQ stock market, meaning that it has over 3,000 components. The brokerage noted that RBK's use of musicians to endorse its shoes is making headway in the youth-oriented specialty retail market. In reaction to the news, RBK has soared above former resistance at the 43 level and reclaimed its 20-week moving average for the first time since early April.

) last night. AMTD said that it has agreed to merge with TD Waterhouse TD Waterhouse is the brand used for both British and Canadian brokerages within the TD Bank Financial Group.

The brand originated as a United States brand for discount brokerage when TD purchased Waterhouse Securities.
 (TD) instead of ET because ET wanted to control the combined company. Apparently investors aren't taking the loss too hard, as the stock was last up more than eight percent in late-session trading.

Ford Motor (F) is having quite an impact on auto-parts makers today, as both Visteon (NYSE:VC) and Delphi (DPH DPH Diploma in Public Health.

VC was last seen down more than four percent, as the stock dipped below short-term support in the 6.50 area.

The rise of grocery-store competitor Kroger (KR) has apparently added some downward pressure on Albertson's (NYSE:ABS) in today's session. You'll remember that yesterday, KR reported first-quarter earnings of 40 cents per share, a nickel better than last year's results and six cents better than the consensus estimate. Today, ABS has slipped more than three percent lower, as it threatens to break below its 20-week moving average.
