5:14 PM Sierra Wireless Moves Higher Ahead of Earnings

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR) jumped nearly five percent in a ten-minute span Monday afternoon, after the company announced a supply agreement with Cingular Wireless. Although the pact's value was not disclosed, the market almost immediately valued it at a significant dollar amount. SWIR will deliver its AirCard 860 3G wireless wide area network card for use in Cingular's high-speed data network. It tacked on 1.68 percent yesterday and added more than six percent today. SWIR is up nearly ten percent in the last three sessions.

SWIR is no stranger to sharp moves. The stock soared more than 40 percent from September 19 to September 21 after the company was rumored to be one possible supplier of wireless modems A modem and antenna that transmits and receives over the air. Wireless modems support several technologies, including 802.11, Bluetooth, CDPD, DataTAC, Mobitex and Ricochet. There are wireless modems for laptops, handhelds and cellphones.  for Dell's (NASDAQ:DELL) laptop computers A portable computer that has a flat LCD screen and usually weighs less than eight pounds. The company is scheduled to report earnings tomorrow after the market close.

3:36 PM Nasdaq Shrugs of Amazon Decline

All in all, it's a pretty dull day for the markets as the Dow Jones Industrial Average Dow Jones Industrial Average

Bonds and oil are both down big and internals are definitely pretty weak. Volume looks like its going to be a little weaker than the past few days as well. Still, considering Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is near the lows of the day, down about 14 percent, to see the Nasdaq down only 5 points isn't all that bad I think. Tonight and tomorrow are the two busiest days in terms of how many companies report, so get ready for some fun.

Despite the positive earnings report and upward revision, GRMN stock is trading lower on the news. GRMN opened about four percent lower, but has since recovered some of its losses and at last check was trading about two percent lower to $65.92. 10:39 AM F5 Networks Tops Earnings, Guides Higher

Last night after the market close, F5 Networks (NASDAQ:FFIV) reported fourth-quarter earnings of 47 cents per share, nine cents ahead of analyst estimates. Company revenues increased 60.5 percent year-over-year to $80.6 million, versus the consensus estimate of $77.4 million. In other positive news, FFIV also issued upside guidance for the first quarter and now sees earnings of 44 to 45 cents per share, versus the consensus estimate of 38 cents.

Technically speaking, the equity has been trending lower since March. This morning's positive news has sent the shares 17 percent higher. FFIV now faces overhead resistance at the 50 level. Market players should keep a close eye on the security to see if it is able to push through this area of resistance.
