The dividend will be payable September 15 to holders of record as of September 1. So far this morning, K is nearly one percent higher. Digging into K's sentiment backdrop, I notice that analysts dole out Verb 1. dole out - administer or bestow, as in small portions; "administer critical remarks to everyone present"; "dole out some money"; "shell out pocket money for the children"; "deal a blow to someone"; "the machine dispenses soft drinks" 17 "hold" or better ratings on the cereal company. Six of those ratings are of the "hold" variety; these could easily become "buy" or better ratings. However, if the 11 "buy" or better ratings get shifted to the negative side of the ratings spectrum, K could drop. While K is advancing, it is facing overhead resistance at the 45 level. Since January 1998, the equity has finished four months above this resistance. What's more, K is feeling the squeeze of its 10-month and 20-month moving averages, as the two seem to be converging at its current position. 12:18 PM Caterpillar Inches Higher On Monday, Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT) will step into the earnings confessional to present first-quarter earnings.
