9:43 AM Bed Bath & Beyond Beats Estimates

Last evening domestic accessories and home furnishings retailer Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY) reported fourth-quarter earnings of 59 cents per share Cents per share

11:43 AM Harrah's Entertainment Higher on Upside Earnings Guidance

Last night after the market close, Harrah's Entertainment (NYSE:HET) said it now expects its adjusted first-quarter earning to come in between 95 to 99 cents per share. This forecast is ahead of analysts' consensus estimates of 83 cents per share. HET has been quite a performer over the past year, as its gains have outpaced the broad market by more than nine percent. Despite its strength, short sellers have made large wagers WAGERS. A wager is a bet a contract by which two parties or more agree that a certain sum of money, or other thing, shall be paid or delivered to one of them, on the happening or not happening of an uncertain event.

Furthermore, the company announced that it expects first-quarter earnings to come in at the low end of its prior guidance range. This news has sent TLB shares sharply lower.  on the stock reveals that it has not drawn much attention from put buyers. In fact, there are currently only 360 open puts compared with 6,400 calls. Financial analysts do not have a strong feeling toward TLB, as nine of the 15 analysts covering the equity rate it a "hold." At last check, TLB was trading $2.91 lower to $29.94.
