Looking at a few names, Chevron (NYSE:CVX) is up over two percent to $71.48 and Holly (HOC) is up over five percent - both are relative strength leaders. In fact, just today CVX hit targets in our Power Stocks program, as we held the stock for more than 16 months and made about 28 percent on the trade, plus dividends. The next Power Stock pick will be released Friday, so if you are interested in a stock picking service - please be sure to stop by www.schaeffersresearch.com. 1:37 PM Intel Looking Quite Vulnerable Yesterday Intel's (NASDAQ:INTC) heavy call option activity outpaced put option volume by a ratio of nearly five to one. Today's call volume is more than five times put volume. The stock is up slightly today, but it is well off its highs, and the shares look to be breaking down a bit technically. The rush of optimism amid the poor price action is a big warning sign in my mind. 10:29 AM Is NYT in Greenberg's Crosshairs? The Wall Street Journal reported that, according to people familiar with the matter, Penn National Gaming Penn National Gaming, Inc. NASDAQ: PENN is a diversified owner and operator of casino properties, as well as horse racetracks and associated off-track betting facilities primarily in the United States. (NASDAQ:PENN) is in talks with Harrah's Entertainment (NYSE:HET) about making an offer for the gambling company. In October, private-equity firms Apollo Management and Texas Pacific Group upped their own bid for HET to $83.50 per share, or $15.5 billion in cash. HET presents an intriguing play, as its technicals are strong and analyst rankings allow ample room for upgrades. Technically, the stock has consolidated along its 10-week moving average and the 75 level. Overhead resistance is in place at the 80 level, but let's see if support from the 10-week trendline can help the stock advance. Any upgrades from the analyst community could help push the stock higher as well. According to Zacks, eight of the 15 analysts following HET rate it a "hold."
