Behind the Headlines: Ford Motor: Ford Motor (NYSE:F) reported today that it plans to revise the pricing of all U.S. models by 2008 as it works to stabilize its retail sales. F officials say the move will enable the automaker to "step away from the heavy incentives" that have had mixed repercussions repercussions npl → répercussions fpl repercussions npl → Auswirkungen pl for F and its competitors. This development has taken F shares about 1.6 percent lower but they are currently holding at price support at the 8.50 level. Jack in the Box: Fast-food concern Jack in the Box (NYSE:JBX) enjoyed a 54-percent boost in fourth-quarter net income after unloading 25 of its locations in Hawaii. Sales rose 12 percent during the three-month reporting period to $671 million while same-store sales climbed 5.9 percent. Excluding items, JBX banked 70 cents per share, or above the 66 cents expected by analysts. The stock's gain of 3.5 percent today has put the shares in uncharted territory

Medtronic: Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) has gapped notably higher today after issuing second-quarter earnings numbers that topped Street expectations. Revenue climbed more than 11 percent during the quarter to $3.08 billion, also exceeding analysts' predictions. The stock's eight-percent rally today has shoved MDT over its 20-month moving average for the first time since February. The equity could now finish the month above this long-term trendline, reversing a recent trend. Additionally, this week MDT has hurdled through the 51.12 level, which marks a 50-percent correction between the stock's January 2006 peak and its August nadir.
