Colorado natives and outdoor-brand gurus Jason Olden and Eric Lyon co-founded Sid Factor Seven in 2002, and have since worked on developing product for such clients as Nike, Under Armour and North Face.

This year, they launched their own brand of high-end technical outerwear--Scapegoat--and now offer a catalog of nine different men's jackets.

"It's the culmination of all of our backgrounds," Lyon said. "We hang our hat on two things: being technically correct and always appropriate."

He described the technical details as "best in class," but noted that the jackets have more style than typical technical apparel. "It looks more like a fashion piece," Lyon said. $220 to $550 retail.
