Scali and Liquid Computing Sign OEM Agreement.

Record Performance and Scalability of Oil Industry's Standard Reservoir Simulation Reservoir simulation is an area of reservoir engineering in which computer models are used to predict the flow of fluids (typically, oil, water, and gas) through porous media.  Applications

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. & HOUSTON -- Scali and Liquid Computing announced an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreement supporting Scali MPI MPI - Message Passing Interface  Connect[TM] on Liquid Computing's LiquidIQ[TM] server. Scali MPI Connect is a high performance, scalable and fully supported implementation of the industry standard Message Passing Interface (communications, protocol) Message Passing Interface - A de facto standard for communication among the nodes running a parallel program on a distributed memory system. MPI is a library of routines that can be called from Fortran and programs.  (MPI) which is widely used in high performance computing applications. LiquidIQ is an award winning fabric computing server that delivers industry leading performance, flexibility and cost advantages.

"Scali MPI Connect is the industry standard against which all others are measured," said Jack Kay, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Scali. "We are excited to bring together Scali MPI Connect with LiquidIQ to bring unprecedented performance benefits to Oil & Gas and other customers."

"With this agreement, Liquid Computing now offers customers a choice between two fully supported high performance MPI implementations on LiquidIQ: MPICH and Scali's MPI Connect," said Nick Weston, Director of World Wide Energy Sales for Liquid Computing. "Our first deployments of Scali's MPI Connect will be for reservoir simulation applications in the oil and gas industry. For these applications, Liquid Computing is offering an unprecedented 40% or better performance improvement along with linear performance scaling to over 64 processors. For end users in the oil and gas industry this speed increase means better production decisions and faster matching of production data to simulation thereby improving return and yield of the hydrocarbons produced. LiquidIQ and Scali MPI Connect are available today and are bringing the industry one step closer to the nirvana nirvana (nērvä`nə), in Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism, a state of supreme liberation and bliss, contrasted to samsara or bondage in the repeating cycle of death and rebirth.  of near real-time simulations."

About Liquid Computing

Liquid Computing Inc. is first to deliver a new class of computer system called LiquidIQ[TM] to meet the needs of scalable computing users within Enterprise High Performance Computing and Software as a Service markets. LiquidIQ[TM] is an Interconnect Driven Server that delivers a set of managed computing and communications resources. It can be configured with software commands into one or several cluster configurations, shared memory (1) Using part of main memory to support a low-cost display circuit that does not have its own memory. See shared video memory.

(2) The common memory in a symmetric multiprocessing system that is available to all CPUs. See SMP.
