I'm hearing fewer apologies and seeing less effort to make things right. I've seen coverage on the conditions of nursing homes in the mainstream press. I hear about it personally, from friends and neighbors who complain about the nursing homes where they've housed their mothers and grandmothers. What I typically see in return are higher ups saying nursing homes' staffs are overworked and underpaid un·der·paid v. Last week, our caterers forgot to prepare appetizers and bring wine for a menu tasting scheduled for my wedding. No one apologized for the time wasted. No one even realized the items were missing. My fiance and I had to mention it to three different people before we were given an explanation--without an apology. This facility won't be getting any positive referrals from me. Customers are not going to let any organization get away with poor service. They will eventually find another business to take care of them, and they will spread the word to family and friends so no one else is hurt.
