L.A.'s poster stores are bracing themselves. The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art will host an international exhibit of works by contemporary photographer Ansel Adams from Feb. 2 through May 11.

"Ansel Adams at 100," which was organized and began at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is a major modern art museum and San Francisco landmark.

It opened in 1935 under founding director Dr. Grace Morley (Grace L.
 in August 2001, commemorates the 100th anniversary of Adams' birth and arrives in L.A. after stops in Chicago, London and Berlin, said Bo Smith, a LACMA spokesman.

The exhibit includes more than 100 photographs and prints, including the now famous "Monolith, the Face of Half Dome" and "Moonrise moon·rise

LACMA will also include a complementary exhibit called "Landscape Photography After Ansel Adams: Selections from LACMA's Permanent Collection."

Tickets are $11 to $15, Smith said. He said he expects "Ansel Adams at 100," the first Ansel Adams exhibit at LACMA in 14 years, to attract large crowds from as far as Las Vegas and Phoenix.

"Everyone from aficionados to families, who see the calendar for sale every year or on their desk, will enjoy the show' Smith said.

Adams, a San Francisco native, began taking pictures at age 14 while visiting Yosemite National Park Yosemite National Park (yōsĕm`ĭtē), 761,266 acres (308,205 hectares), E central Calif.; est. 1890 as a result of the efforts of conservationist John Muir. Located in the Sierra Nevada, it is a glacier-scoured area of great beauty; Mt. . In 1919, he joined the Sierra Club, where he eventually was director for 37 years. He published several books, taught at the Art Center School in L.A. in the 1940s and in 1975 co-founded the Center for Creative Photography The Center for Creative Photography (CCP), established in 1975 and located on the University of Arizona (Tucson) campus, is a research facility and archival repository containing the full archives of over sixty of the most famous American photographers including those of Ansel  at the University of Arizona (body, education) University of Arizona - The University was founded in 1885 as a Land Grant institution with a three-fold mission of teaching, research and public service.  in Tuscon, where his archive is established. In 1980, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom Medal of Freedom
