Sawmill to double production.


The opening of Devlin Timber's new sawmill sawmill, installation or facility in which cut logs are sawed into standard-sized boards and timbers. The saws used in such an installation are generally of three types: the circular saw, which consists of a disk with teeth around its edge; the band saw, which  in northwestern Ontario Northwestern Ontario is the region within the Canadian province of Ontario which lies north and west of Lake Superior, and west of Hudson Bay and James Bay. It includes most of subarctic Ontario.  means a few more jobs for the region. An official with the sawmill says Devlin Timber Co. Ltd. plans to hire three to five people for its on-call on-call Hospital practice adjective Referring to a status in which a physician can be reached and arrive at the hospital within 30 mins of being paged  list to replace the workers currently in those positions who will step into full-time positions when the new mill becomes operational sometime this month. Workers on the on-call list work as lumber lumber, term for timber that has been cut into boards for use as a building material. The major steps in producing lumber involve logging (the felling and preparation of timber for shipment to sawmills), sawing the logs into boards, grading the boards according to  pilers and fill in for workers who are sick or taking holidays.

The $3-million sawmill, which produces timbers, pressure-treated lumber, log siding and V-joints, is expected to double Devlin's current annual production of five million board feet.
