Sault College examines enrollment.


A declining regional population base and local economic realities has prompted Sault College Sault College is one of 24 publicly funded community colleges in Ontario. Sault College is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and began in 1965 as the Ontario Vocational Centre.  to examine new ways to draw in prospective students from outside the Algoma Algoma may refer to:

The college wants to reverse a historical demographic trend of drawing 60 to 70 per cent of students from within the Algoma district. With the unveiling of their new five-year strategic plan last summer, renewed emphasis is being placed on attracting prospective students from outside the region, including targetting Southern Ontario Ontario, city, United States

The plan is to increase enrolment by 600 students by 2005, bringing their full-time enrolment to 3,000 students, figures they once enjoyed in the late 1980's.

They hope to achieve that by adding some new and unique programming to the North and expand some of their more popular programs in aviation and forestry.

They also intend to create an international college division next year with Lake Superior State University, just across the St. Mary's River in Sault sault
