subclavian steal
Girls Aloud's crown as Queens of Pop.

The Up star said they are set to take advantage of their rivals year-long break. Una, inset, added: "It's a great opportunity for us. Sugababes, apart from Jade, aren't a new band and we're still classed as a new band so we need to grasp this chance.

"I'm sure there will be loads of other girl bands starting up now but I think we've got a headstart on them. We've released five singles and are up to our sixth.

"There's definitely space for a new girlband."

The band is back with a new album, Wordshaker, and Una, 27, said it is better than their debut. She added: "It's a progression progression, in mathematics, sequence of quantities, called terms, in which the relationship between consecutive terms is the same. An arithmetic progression is a sequence in which each term is derived from the preceding one by adding a given number, d, , I think, it's more mature and the songs are bigger. We love this album, and it's exciting to be promoting something new.

"We're not sick of it yet."
