SatCon and Cummins South Enter Distributor Agreement for SatCon's Rotary UPS Systems.

SatCon Technology Corporation(R) (Nasdaq NM:SATC), a manufacturer of electronic power control systems, today announced that SatCon and Cummins South have entered into a Supplier Distributor agreement to promote the sale of SatCon's Rotary UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to end users that have a critical power requirement for high-quality, "always-on" power. SatCon has already placed two systems, one at LeCroy University and another at Deluxe Film Processing in Toronto.

SatCon's Rotary UPS performs the functions of both back up power and power quality conditioning. As a power quality conditioner and uninterruptible power source, it is designed to provide reliable, high quality power by constantly conditioning incoming power from the electric utility grid and acting as a substitute for the electric utility in the case of a power outage. As a back-up power source, when there is a power outage, the SatCon system instantaneously converts the energy stored in its flywheel to electricity, which powers the facility until the Cummins engine driven stand-by generator starts or the utility power returns.
