Previously, Sartomer's monomers and oligomers were sold in Japan through the company's 12-year joint venture with Nippon Nippon (nĭp`ŏn, nĭpŏn`), name for Japan, derived from Dai Nippon, meaning Great Japan. The expression comes from the Chinese ideograph for the place where the sun comes from, or Land of the Rising Sun. Kayaku Ltd. (Tokyo) under the name Kayaku Sartomer Ltd. As of July 6, Sartomer acquired 100% of Kayaku Sartomer, which it is renaming Sartomer Japan.
