Sarah Silverman Returns as Master of Ceremonies for the 2007 Film Independent's Spirit Awards.


LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  -- Film Independent announced today that Sarah Silverman Sarah Kate Silverman (born December 1, 1970) is an American comedian, writer and actress. Although usually credited as Sarah Silverman, she is sometimes credited by her nickname Big S or Sarah 'Big S' Silverman.  will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the 2007 Spirit Awards. This will serve as Silverman's second time hosting the event, which will take place in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. Tourism and retailing are important, and the city has motion-picture, biotechnology, and software industries.  on Saturday, February 24, 2007.

The 2007 ceremony airs live on Saturday, February 24, beginning at 5:00 p.m. EST on IFC (Internet Foundation Classes) A class library from Netscape that provides an application framework and graphical user interface (GUI) routines for Java programmers. Nominations for the 2007 Film Independent's Spirit Awards will be announced on Tuesday, November 28, at 8:00 a.m. PST PST Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, see there  at the Sofitel LA hotel. Diana Zahn-Storey returns to produce the event for the thirteenth consecutive year.

Rightly considered one of the most talented rising young performers, Silverman is well-known for last year's feature length film version of her celebrated one-woman show Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic, as well as her appearance in the acclaimed 2005 documentary feature, The Aristocrats in which 100 of the industry's most prominent comedians tell a version of the same joke. In Spring 2007, Comedy Central will debut "The Sarah Silverman Program," a half-hour narrative loosely based on her life, about a detached and eccentric woman with no discernible goals whose tale will be told through an array of comedic scenes and songs.

Eligible films must be at least 70 minutes long, and the cost of the completed film, including post-production, must be under $20 million.
