 Clinton was the guest speaker at UJA-Federation of New York's Russian Division's 2006 Annual Gala honoring Tamir Sapir An immigrant from the former Soviet republic of Georgia, Tamir Sapir (birth name Temur Sepiashvili) arrived in the United States in 1973, becoming a taxicab driver in New York City. Saving up to buy an electronics store, he catered primarily to Russian clientele. .

Sapir was the recipient of Lydia Vareljian Humanitarian Award. The Russian Division also honored Alex Goldin, recipient of the Young Leadership Award.

The Sapir Organization, a New York-based, family-owned, billion-dollar conglomerate with real estate holdings in excess of seven million square feet of prime Manhattan commercial space, including the architecturally distinguished 11 Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Sapir left the Soviet Union in 1973, first settling in Israel and later migrating to the United States.

He began his foray into the business community by buying and mortgaging a taxi medallion in New York City and investing his life savings to open a wholesale electronics store in lower Manhattan, which became an enclave for New York's growing Russian community and for visiting Soviet dignitaries and trade delegations seeking to purchase state-of-the-art electronics.

In 1985, he was invited to join a delegation of U.S. officials and corporate members of the U.S.-USSR Trade and Economic Council, the main East-West trade organization of the Soviet era. Sapir was also one of the major foreign partners for the emerging oil industry in Russia.

Sapir built the Congregation of Georgian Jews Synagogue in Rego Park, Queens Rego Park is a diverse neighborhood in the central portion of the New York City borough of Queens. It is bordered to the north by Elmhurst and Corona, the east and south by Forest Hills and the west by Middle Village. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 6. , as well as a synagogue in Israel.

Goldin, born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1971, arrived in the U.S. in 1977. An attorney, he is a member of the New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 State Trial Lawyers Association and is a licensed New York real estate broker.

He serves as a UJA-Federation of New York Young Leadership/Russian Division board member and is currently a member of the Leadership cabinet.
