Sanwa Bank helps bring "Christmas in April" to homeowners in Los Angeles, San Francisco.


LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 1995--Sanwa Bank California employees in both Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  will spend Saturday, April 29, working as volunteers to renovate the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners as part of the national "Christmas in April" program.

They will be supported in their efforts through the bank's donation of $5,000.

, 30 Sanwa Bank volunteers will be among thousands who will assist in the renovation of homes and non-profit facilities. Likewise in Los Angeles County, another 30 volunteers from Sanwa will assist in the renovation of a residence in Monterey Park Monterey Park, city (1990 pop. 60,738), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a growing residential suburb of Los Angeles; inc. 1916. It is a wholesale, retail, and financial services center. . Nationwide, "Christmas in April" organizers estimate more than 300,000 volunteers will turn out on Saturday to take part in the program.

Founded in 1989, the community-based program is dedicated to helping low-income, elderly and disabled people across the nation live in warmth, safety and decency de·cen·cy
