Sanmina-SCI plant achieves military qualification.

Sanmina-SCI Corp. (San Jose, CA, www.sanmina-sci.com), an electronics contract manufacturer and printed circuit board (PCB) fabricator, announced that its PCB facility in Phoenix, AZ, has received MIL-PRF-31032 certification by the Defense Supply Center, Columbus (DSCC, Columbus, OH, www.dscc.dla.mil). The certification includes qualification for military specification MIL-PRF-31032/1A for Type 3, GF (Epoxy-FR4) and GI (Polyimide).

The facility, which specializes in QTA-through-volume manufacturing of bare PCBs with layer counts up to 50 and thickness up to 0.300 in., previously obtained certification to MIL-PRF-5511 OF in July 2002. Sanmina-SCl's Costa Mesa, CA, and Wilmington, MA, facilities are also certified to MIL-PRF-31032.

The DSCC is the largest supplier of weapon systems spare parts and end items for the Department of Defense. To be certified, products must be manufactured in the U.S. and pass a stringent laboratory analysis.
