Sierra: NT Platform Software for Networked, High Volume Customers

 "Sierra," was demonstrated for the first time today at CardTech/SecurTech '97 (CT/ST CT/ST Cassette Tape/Selectric Typewriter ). Sierra provides a single, powerful point of control for high-volume card printing applications. In addition, the efficient systems design of the Sierra server allows Sandia VIVID 2000(TM) ID card printers to operate faster than ever before. Sandia is also premiering its new IDesign(TM) image capture software during CardTech. Both Sierra and IDesign will be demonstrated at Sandia's CT/ST booth No.512 during the show.

Operating in a Windows(TM) NT(TM) network environment, Sierra individually controls each print engine in an entire identification card production system with unprecedented configuration flexibility and robust error correction.

Imaging Becomes Full Spectrum Secure Card Provider

Sandia today also announced plans to roll out the mid-range version of its new VIVID 2000 printers, which will give Sandia the capability to become a full spectrum provider of secure card solutions. The printer is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
