SanDisk Promotes Sanjay Mehrotra to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer; Company Co-Founder To Have Greatly Expanded Range of Responsibilities.

SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK) announced today the promotion of Sanjay Mehrotra, 43, to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Mehrotra's most recent position at SanDisk was senior vice president of engineering, which included responsibilities for directing SanDisk's NAND flash program, developing all SanDisk flash products and managing the company's intellectual property licensing activities. He is also executive vice president of FlashVision, a new semiconductor company started by Toshiba and SanDisk to manufacture advanced NAND flash components. Mehrotra is a co-founder of SanDisk and has been with the company since its inception in 1988. He is also a board member of Divio, a privately held semiconductor start-up company start-up company

Previously, Mehrotra has also served as SanDisk's vice president of product development and director of memory design and product engineering.
