SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), formerly SunDisk Corp. (Nasdaq: SNDK) introduced new additions to the family of ImageMate card readers for Compact Flash (CF), SmartMedia An ultra-compact flash memory format developed by Toshiba and introduced in 1995. About the size of CompactFlash, but as thin as a credit card, SmartMedia cards were popular storage for digital cameras for a while, but capacities never reached beyond 128MB. Available in 3. and MultiMediaCards.
SanDisk first introduced the ImageMate product line in 1998. Since then, it has proven to be very popular with consumers who use the readers for the easy and quick transfer of digital images, audio and data between a wide variety of devices including digital cameras, camcorders, internet music players, audio recorders, smart phones, PDAs and computers.
