San-In Godo Bank Adopts Hitachi's Contactless Finger Vein Authentication System for ATM Machines.Tokyo, Japan, Mar 28, 2006 - (JCN JCN Japan Corporate News JCN Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience JCN Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing JCN Journal of Christian Nursing JCN Job Control Number JCN Journal of Child Neurology JCN joint communications network (US DoD) ) - Hitachi announced on March 24 that San-In Godo Bank of Shimane Prefecture Shimane Prefecture (島根県 Shimane-ken has adopted its proprietary finger vein authentication system The combination of authentication server and authenticator, which may be separate devices or both reside in the same unit such as an access point or network access server. The authentication server contains a database of user names, passwords and policies, and the authenticator physically and will offer the bank's customers a biometric service starting on May 15. The bank will issue the customers a cash card embedded with an IC chip and replace all of its automated teller machines automated teller machine (ATM), device used by bank customers to process account transactions. Typically, a user inserts into the ATM a special plastic card that is encoded with information on a magnetic strip. (ATMs) with finger vein authentication terminals by the end of fiscal 2006. Hitachi will provide comprehensive support service to the bank in everything from issuing smart cards to installing authentication ATMs. This is the first time that a finger vein authentication system will have been used used in a bank in the Chugoku region.
