WHAT: Economist Conferences is holding its 3rd Annual Innovation
Awards and Summit on September 14th 2004 at the Four
Seasons in downtown San Francisco.
The event will begin with a series of peer-group
discussions, lectures and interviews of practices that
drive corporate and societal innovation, and culminate
with a dinner and awards ceremony to honor the immense
contribution key innovators have made to the global
economy.
Nominated by a distinguished committee of judges, as well
as readers and journalists from The Economist and selected
by a judging committee, the winners will represent chief
innovators in the fields of Computing, Bioscience,
Telecommunications, and Energy and the Environment. There
will also be a winner selected in a special technology
category that The Economist calls "No Boundaries," and in
a new category: Social and Economic Innovation.
WHO: SPECIAL GUEST: San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will
present welcoming remarks preceding the Awards Reception.
