Mini-Series Receptions During the 2002 San Francisco Ballet San Francisco Ballet, or SFB, is a San Francisco, USA based ballet company, founded in 1933 as part of San Francisco Opera Ballet.  from La Crema Winery. ENCORE! is a group of young professional Bay Area men and women that support San Francisco Ballet through performance attendance, volunteer activities and financial support. Their goal is to offer the more than 400 ENCORE! members an opportunity to experience the wonder and magic of San Francisco Ballet while also enjoying a unique perspective from behind the scenes

ENCORE! members are offered a mini-series subscription of three performances during the San Francisco Ballet season. A reception for ENCORE! Mini-Series attendees is held prior to each performance in the Intermezzo intermezzo (ĭntərmĕt`sō, –mĕd`zō).

The ENCORE! Mini-Series includes the following three San Francisco Ballet performances:
-- Thursday, February 7, Program 2: Filled with fluid movement and sensuous
imagery, Without Words opens the program on a contemporary note, while Prism
soars with brilliant classicism and virtuosity. In addition, Julia Adam, who
created Night, has choreographed a new work titled Angelo.

-- Thursday, April 4, Program 5: A vibrant tour de force, Mark Morris' A Garden
is a celebration of classical dance while the sleek and sexy Black Cake dishes
up layer upon layer of elegance, humor and complex interplay. This program also
features two exciting world premieres: Chi-Lin by Helgi Tomasson and Later by
Mark Morris created for retiring principal dancer Joanna Berman.

-- Thursday, May 9, Program 8: Giselle is acclaimed by critics nationwide, this
classic full-length ballet features sumptuous scenery and costumes, beautiful
music, and breathtaking dance.
