Samsung Electronics America Inc. Names Jai Hoon Kim as President of Its Information Technology Division.

IRVINE, Calif. -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a global leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies, today announced Jai Hoon ("JH") Kim has been appointed to president of Samsung's Information Technology Division, which is based in Irvine, Calif.

Kim's career with Samsung has spanned more than 20 years and has provided him with vast knowledge of international marketing and global management, as well as proven strategic leadership working closely with research and development to develop, plan and foster growth for new products. Kim was most recently vice president of strategic marketing for displays, Samsung Electronics, Inc. in Korea, where he spent six years. Kim will now be responsible for overseeing all product sales and marketing and operational activities in the U.S. for Samsung's award-winning line of Information Technology products.

Park has been leading Samsung's IT division as president for two years and will now apply his expertise in a global role, focusing on product planning and strategic marketing for Samsung's monitor and projector products as well as a variety of other technologies for Samsung Electronics, Inc. based in Korea. With over 25 years of experience with Samsung, Park has held key roles in strategic planning and leading sales and marketing efforts both in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to being named President of Samsung's Information Technology Division in the U.S., Park held the position of President, Samsung Electronics Latin America, from 2001 to 2005. Based in Panama, Park led Samsung in the Central America, Andean and Caribbean markets, composed of more than 30 countries.
