In addition, Samsung provides a software program called the RFS (Remote File System) A distributed file system for Unix computers introduced by AT&T in 1986 with Unix System V Release 3.0. It is similar to Sun's NFS, but only for Unix systems.  (Robust File System) for the Linux environment and TFS4-Light software has been developed for applications, such as MP3 players, that need a small memory footprint.

Samsung's XSR, which has been designed to facilitate the use of OneNAND Flash memory with any mobile product operating system, delivers 30MB/sec reading and 9MB/sec writing speeds. It also simplifies the design process for high performance, low-cost, low-power multimedia mobile systems.

Samsung offers the most expansive line of mobile memory, including NAND Flash memory, mobile DRAM, UtRAM, multi-chip packages, next-generation fusion memory and customized mobile memory software solutions.

According to the market analyst firm, iSuppli, sales of 3G mobile phones alone will increase at an annual average of 87% through 2008.
