Salvation Army, IAST, and National Liberty Museum Host Sexual Trafficking Discussion With Leading Experts.

The Salvation Army has established branches in 100 countries throughout the world.
, and the Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking, in partnership with the National Liberty Museum will host, "Modern-Day Slavery: Confronting Sexual Trafficking" - a community discussion on sexual trafficking at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2002.

The two-hour briefing, which is open to the public at no charge, will take place at the National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.

The University was first chartered as the state's agricultural school in 1888. The site of the school was originally the Oliver Watson Farm, and the original farmhouse still lies on the campus today.

The dimensions of this human tragedy are staggering - this year alone an estimated two million women and children will be trafficked globally, and nearly 50,000 of those will be trafficked into the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

The Salvation Army leads more than 30 faith-based, human rights, and child advocacy Child advocacy refers to a range of individuals, professionals and advocacy organizations who promote the optimal development of children. IAST conducts activities designed to educate the public about the horrors of this modern-day slavery and promotes the welfare of survivors via grassroots advocacy and policy initiatives.

The Salvation Army is also working to develop residential, comprehensive recovery centers for survivors trafficked into the United States.
