 youngsters to learn about math, science, the humanities and arts, recently recognized five notable New York City leaders with awards for their contributions in architecture, design, business, education and philanthropy. Record-breaking attendance and funds were raised as awards were given to commercial real estate industry leader Thomas Craig Sir Thomas Craig, Knt., (c. 1538 - February 26, 1608) was a Scottish jurist and poet.

It is probable that he was the eldest son of William Craig of Craigfintray, or Craigston, in Aberdeenshire, but beyond the fact that he was in some way related to the Craigfintray family
 of Hines, renowned architects Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Spear of Arquitectonica, leading interior-designer Greg Jordan, and educator Dr. George Campbell George Campbell may refer to:

Salvadori Center, founded by the late eminent engineer and university professor Dr. Mario Salvadori Mario Salvadori (1907-1997) was an architect, structural engineer and professor of both civil engineering and architecture at Columbia University. During World War II he was a consultant on the Manhattan Project. He was born in Rome, Italy in 1907. , imparts the excitement and understanding of mathematics, science and the humanities to youngsters while stimulating their curiosity about their neighborhoods and city. Since 1987, more than 130,000 New York City youngsters have been reached, becoming more successful students and more engaged citizens.

Thomas Craig, senior vice president of Hines, has been responsible for the Metropolitan New York area office since 1996. He has spearheaded numerous major development projects throughout the Northeast, most notably: a two million square foot, mixed use project for Goldman Sachs in New Jersey and a one million square foot building for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Spear are founding partners of Arquitectonica (ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest) A method of handling communications errors in which the receiving station requests retransmission if an error occurs.

), formed in 1977. Throughout their career, Mr. FortBrescia and Ms. Spear have been honored for excellence in architecture on several occasions by being elected to the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1999.

Jordan specializes in the full-service creation of residences that finely amplify the concept of home. Jordan, recently featured as a member of Architectural Digest's exclusive AD 100 Design Legends, has a modern approach with harmoniously incorporated elements from varied times and cultures, while still maintaining a foundation based on traditional principles.

Dr. George Campbell Jr., this year's education honoree, has been the president and CEO of NACME since 1989, a non-profit corporation that conducts research and public policy analysis, publishes original educational materials and operates comprehensive scholarship and academic enrichment programs in engineering, targeting economically disadvantaged students. Under his wing, NACME was awarded with U.S. Presidential Award for Excellence in 1996.
