Salud Miami launches innovative health care web site.

Salud Miami (Miami Health), the organization of eight outstanding hospitals in South Florida, has launched a new web site featuring medical news and the latest in treatments and technologies.

"Our patient volume has tripled in recent months, and about 90% of our requests come via the Internet," says Victoria Brewer-Anderson, executive director of Salud Miami. "Many other health sites offer very general medical information to their audience that might not be readily accessible at nearby hospitals. Our goal is to offer valuable interviews with our physicians that reflect cutting-edge procedures and innovative techniques available right here in Miami. A patient simply needs to send us an e-mail. We then put him or her directly in contact with the appropriate hospital and make the necessary appointment."

The new web site, created by Fusion Networks, is more user-friendly and interactive. It can be accessed in English, Spanish and Portuguese at www.saludmiami.com, www.miamihealth.org and www.saudemiami.com.

A technology section has been added, featuring the latest innovations in detecting health problems at their earliest stages. It highlights the most up-to-date medical equipment, including a new generation of advanced medical scanners: MRIs, PET and Spiral Imatrons--million-dollar Investments that offer the latest technology available anywhere.

"Miami has some of the best diagnostic facilities in the world, making it an ideal location for a comprehensive check-up or for a second opinions--something now widely sought by South American patients," says Anderson.

Other features of the new web site include a medical terms indicator and a reservations page, whereby the patient can also make hotel accommodations through Salud Miami's travel planner.

Additionally, there is a new section for testimonials. "While it is very difficult for patients to share their personal experiences when it comes to health care issues, we are inviting Salud Miami patients to comment on the quality of service and level of care they receive here in Miami," says Anderson.
