Sagittarians 'Have Best Car Insurance Claim Records'

Sagittarians appear to be the most careful drivers of all the star signs, according to new research from moneysupermarket.com.

The price comparison website found that those who were born between November 23rd and December 21st are least likely to pick up motoring claims and convictions.

Compared with the average driver, Sagittarians file seven per cent fewer motor insurance claims and receive eight per cent fewer convictions, Moneysupermarket discovered.

This is not surprising considering those born under the sign of the archer are cited as being precise and tolerant.

Arians on the other hand pick up the most claims and convictions thanks to their impatient nature. In general they file nine per cent more claims and rack up six per cent more motoring convictions than the average driver.

Richard Mason, director of insurance at moneysupermarket.com said: "Some drivers will read more into this than others, but it''s fair to say we were surprised how closely this year''s claims and conviction statistics mirrored traditional star sign traits."

For those whose star sign does get them into trouble, Moneysupermarket advises them to shop around for the best car insurance deals. There is now a much larger variety of insurers to choose from ensuring that the customer will get the best deal for them.

Some insurers tend to be more lenient than others towards transgressions, and motorists could save themselves hundreds of pounds by comparing their current provider''s quoted premium with others on the market, it claims.

"Drivers should keep sight of the potential social and financial consequences of letting their standards slip, whatever their star sign. If you do have to make a claim, or worse still receive a driving conviction, it''s definitely worth shopping around since your premiums may well rise and your current insurer may no longer offer the best value for money," said Mr Mason.
