Safeway Inc. Launches '10 Cents Off Fuel Promotion'; Spend $50, Get 10-Cents off Per Gallon Automatically.

:SWY SWY Safeway, Inc. (stock symbol) ) launched a fuel promotion on May 26th that offers customers the opportunity to receive 10-cents off per gallon of gas automatically at any Safeway Fuel Station when they spend $50 on Safeway purchases through June 27, 2006.

Safeway customers can shop with ease knowing that when they fill up their cart with an order of $50 or more in a single transaction, they can then fill up their tank at any Safeway Fuel Station and receive 10-cents off per gallon when they use their Safeway Club Card. A total of 8 discounts can be banked on a club card. Throughout the promotion from May 26 - June 27, when a customer spends $50, any banked 6-cent discounts will revert reĀ·vert

1. To return to a former condition, practice, subject, or belief.

2. To undergo genetic reversion.
 to a 10-cent discount. All 10-cent discounts must be redeemed by June 27th when the promotion ends. Any unused discounts that are banked on the club card will revert back to a 6-cent discount when the customer makes their next purchase of $50 or more.

"At a time when fuel prices are skyrocketing, every penny counts when filling up the tank. After filling up their sacks with groceries from our stores, it is rewarding to give back to our customers by offering them 10-cents off per gallon of gas at any of our Safeway Fuel Stations," stated Cherie Myers, director of public and government affairs for Safeway's Seattle Division. "In the first few days of the promotion, our customers have responded unanimously by lining up to fill their tanks."

Safeway customers can maximize their savings in the stores by taking it to the pump and filling up. The savings continue to mount when paying by a debit card debit card, card that allows the cost of goods or services that are purchased to be deducted directly from the purchaser's checking account. They can also be used at automated teller machines for withdrawing cash from the user's checking account.  with no fees that are often incurred at other fuel stations. The "10 Cents Off Fuel Promotion" lasts at all Safeway stores from now through June 27, 2006.
