Safety supply system delivers, controls amine catalyst for coldbox users. (New Product).Foundries using coldbox core systems often are buying coldbox amine amine (əmēn`, ăm`ēn): see under amino group. amine Any of a class of nitrogen-containing organic compounds derived, either in principle or in practice, from ammonia (NH3). catalyst in 110-gal containers, as purchasing in larger quantities reduces unit cost. Nitrogen is typically used as a propellant pro·pel·lant also pro·pel·lent n. 1. Something, such as an explosive charge or a rocket fuel, that propels or provides thrust. 2. for pushing the liquid from these containers. Using these larger pressurized pres·sur·ize tr.v. pres·sur·ized, pres·sur·iz·ing, pres·sur·iz·es 1. To maintain normal air pressure in (an enclosure, as an aircraft or submarine). 2. containers can be dangerous because if there is a line break, the nitrogen regulator continues to maintain tank pressure, emptying the container of amine. Pressurizing the cylinder and forcing the catalyst to the gas generator an apparatus in which gas is evolved a retort in which volatile hydrocarbons are evolved by heat a machine in which air is saturated with the vapor of liquid hydrocarbon; a carburetor a machine for the production of carbonic acid gas, for aërating water, bread, etc. presents safety and control problems through this leakage potential. The NPAD-110 amine catalyst supply system from Gaylord Foundry Equipment, Inc., Independence, Missouri, allows 110-gal users to deliver and control amine catalyst safely by monitoring the nitrogen flow. The system includes a steel frame with a scale assembly and safety features. A load-cell-based platform holds the amine container and uses an electronic scale system to monitor tank contents continuously. A 50-[micro] filter ensures that tramp material generated from rust and scale inside the containers never reaches the coremaking station. The safety system tracks the nitrogen flow to prevent leaks and spills. A flow monitoring valve senses an increase in nitrogen flow and automatically closes the supply valve while initiating visual and audible alarms. If the amine container experiences a leakage or reduced pressure prob1em, the safety system takes over, handling the problem and preventing any dangerous (and potentially flammable) spills from occurring. To ensure proper functioning of the system, liquid amine line pressure and nitrogen pressure safety switches and an excess flow valve are interlocked with an explosion-proof valve for fail-safe shut off in the event of pressure loss due to line breakage or low nitrogen supply pressure. The excess flow valve and pneumatic valve provide bubble-tight shutoff shut·off n. 1. A device that shuts something off. 2. A stoppage; a cessation. if a line pressure drop or increased amine flow occur. Built-in safety switches monitor tank, line and supply pressure.
