Safety credit where it's due; VIEWPOINTS.

I AM grateful to Tony Verderame for his kind words of appreciation (Viewpoints, September 29) and the interest he has taken in road safety issues at Marlborough Road, Penylan.

I am also pleased he acknowledges the improved road safety in Marlborough Road, which has occurred as a result of measures taken by the council.

I feel it is only fair to point out I have been, and continue to be, heavily lobbied about the same concerns by the elected members for Penylan - councillors Tricia Burfoot, Bill Kelloway and Freda Salway. They have made personal approaches to me on numerous occasions and I know they have corresponded and met with highways officers to explore road safety solutions in Marlborough Road. Largely as a result of their endeavours, the council has agreed to implement traffic calming traffic calming nreducción f de la velocidad de la circulación

I feel sure Mr Verderame will wish to join me in thanking councillors Burfoot, Kelloway and Salway for their continuing endeavours on behalf of the residents and children of Penylan.
