Safety council opposes warnings on alcohol labels.

 opposes warning labels on alcoholics as proposed by several members of Parliament as a measure to reduce the incidence of FAS/FAE.

"We have very legitimate questions about alcohol warning labels that we believe deserve to be heard. There is no compelling evidence to show that warning labels will have any effect in reducing the irresponsible ir·re·spon·si·ble

 use of beverage alcohol products. "Several major research studies have concluded that labels have had no significant impact on consumption patterns in other jurisdictions around the world that use them," Emile-J. Therien, Council President stated.
