Todd Hewlin, Managing Director of TCG Advisors LLC and Phil Moyer, President of EDGAR[R] Online Inc. Join Safeguard Scientifics Technology Advisory Board

(NYSE: SFE), a holding company that builds value in growth-stage technology and life sciences companies, today announced that it has expanded its Technology Advisory Board to include two of the technology industry's top executives - Todd Hewlin, Managing Director of TCG Advisors LLC and Phil Moyer, President of EDGAR[R] Online Inc. (Nasdaq: EDGR).

Todd Hewlin

As Managing Director at TCG Advisors, Todd advises leading tech and tech-enabled companies on their strategic growth, transformation, and organizational issues. Much of his work has focused on helping management teams prioritize market opportunities, align product/sales/marketing execution, and organize for breakout growth. He also advises boards, management, and financial sponsors on the execution of carve-outs, roll-ups, acquisitions, and divestitures that support their business strategies. Prior to TCG Advisors, Todd was responsible for Symbol Technologies' $1.5 billion in product businesses, including mobile computing, wireless networking, RFID, data capture, and mobility software. Todd negotiated the sale of the company to Motorola for cash consideration of $4 billion, which represented the fifth largest tech M&A transaction of 2006. Previously, Todd was a Managing Director at B2B e-commerce leader Internet Capital Group where he ran the strategy group and served on the Executive and Investment Committees. ICG, a former Safeguard partner company, was the best-performing IPO on the Nasdaq in 1999. He started his career as a Partner at McKinsey & Company where he co-led the Global Electronic Commerce practice and was a core partner in the Financial Services group. Todd received a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Phil Moyer

Phil Moyer recently became President of EDGAR[R] Online Inc. after 15 years at Microsoft Corp. In his current role, Phil is responsible for advancing EDGAR[R] Online's technology and growth strategy, and implementing the company's immediate and longer term objectives. In his role at Microsoft, he managed large teams in a variety of technology, services, and sales roles, working to develop and deliver solutions across an array of industries, including state and local governments and financial, healthcare, and professional services. Phil also served in several management positions at Microsoft, including General Manager of Microsoft Services, Partners & Technology, U.S. East Region; General Manager for Global Customers; and the first General Manager for the Professional Services Industry. During his Microsoft career, Phil won multiple national and global awards for customer satisfaction and financial performance. Prior to joining Microsoft, Phil co-founded Orion Systems Group, a provider of administrative software for education and local government organizations. He was also a software developer for radar systems with GE Aerospace. Phil received a BA in Computer Science and Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh.
