SafeCare(TM) Systems Appoints George E. Ritter Jr., M.D. As Its Chief Medical Officer.


CHANTILLY, Va. -- The SafeCare(TM) Systems Group (SafeCare(TM)), a division of Apptis, Inc., announced today it has appointed Dr. George E. Ritter rit·ter

Ritter joins SafeCare from the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. where he was Medical Director of Patient Safety in the Division of Healthcare Quality. Dr. Ritter also served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Tufts University School of Medicine The Tufts University School of Medicine is one of the eight schools that comprise Tufts University. Located on the university's health sciences campus in the Chinatown district of Boston, Massachusetts, the medical school has clinical affiliations with thousands of doctors and .

Dr. Ritter has functioned as a physician executive in a variety of roles for more than 15 years. His experience as a patient, his knowledge as a physician, and his insights and skills gained as a manager bring a unique perspective to SafeCare(TM) Systems, Saltonstall said. "Dr. Ritter's record of accomplishment and his passion about the cultural transformation needed to deliver patient-centered, safe, effective care make him ideally suited to be SafeCare(TM) Systems' Chief Medical Officer."

Prior to working at the Baystate Medical Center, Dr. Ritter was Vice President Medical Affairs/Medical Director of the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs Saratoga Springs, resort and residential city (1990 pop. 25,001), Saratoga co., E N.Y.; inc. as a village 1826, as a city 1915. Dr. Ritter received his A.B. degree from the University of Rochester The University of Rochester (UR) is a private, coeducational and nonsectarian research university located in Rochester, New York. The university is one of 62 elected members of the Association of American Universities.  and M.D. degree from Georgetown University. He took his residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
