Safe Place For a Tornado.

EPS Logistics has recently been contracted by Raytheon to continue in the development of its new Tornado Raptor Pod storage and shipping container. The container is being designed to handle a Reconnaissance Airborne Pod for Tornado (Raptor) during transport by land, air or sea and for long-term storage of up to five years, with a sustained service life of 20 years. The Raptor pod container comprises steel wire shock and vibration isolation mounts and is environmentally controlled to retain less than 50 per cent humidity by means of a silica gel desiccant charge. The silica can be both replaced and monitored without removing the container lid. Two-way relief valves equalise pressure differentials during air transportation, as well as in the case of an emergency rapid decompression.
