Sabeus to Demo Low Phase Noise AG-1 Laser at Photonics West Show.

CALABASAS, Calif. -- Sabeus, Inc. today announced the first public demonstration of its recently launched AG-1 distributed feedback (DFB DFB

acronym for dark, firm, dry meat. Called also dark cutting beef.
) tunable laser A laser that can change its frequency over a given range. In time, tunable lasers are expected to be capable of switching frequencies on a packet by packet basis.  at the Photonics West Conference, which runs from Jan. 20-25 in San Jose San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, CA. The company's demonstration will take place in booth # 6035.

The AG-1 laser has 100-times more signal precision than standard DFB lasers, making it well suited for applications that need both durability and precision such as seismic surveying for oil & gas or military applications, high-precision optical test systems or high-bandwidth fiber-optic communications systems.

The AG-1 is the first Sabeus product to implement the company's patent-pending Multi Variable Control System (MVCS MVCS Multi Vehicle Control System
MVCS Marine Vapor Control System
MVCS Multi Vendor Contribution System (market data software)
) for dynamic signal feedback, which delivers an effective linewidth of 10-400 kHz and short-term frequency stability of O 5 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  for an improvement of approximately two orders of magnitude over today's state-of-the-art semiconductor lasers.
