Enhanced with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), the Saba platform supports integrated e-mail and portal access, new online and offline delivery options, support for multiple databases and an internationalization kit to provide enhanced localization. These updates to Saba Enterprise 2005, a next generation HCM solution, expand the learning, performance and talent management capabilities.

New Service Delivery Options

New service delivery options have been added to support an extended and mobile workforce. With Saba Enterprise 2005, organizations have the flexibility to deliver human capital management services both offline and online, further adapting to the way organizations want and need to work today. Offline delivery capabilities allow mobile users access to learning content via Saba Learning Suite with tracking and synchronization capabilities. "Saba Where You Work" enables users to deploy Saba Enterprise 2005 within Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or enterprise portals, eliminating the need for users to separately launch and enter Saba applications.

Modern, Service-Oriented Architecture

With increasing globalization and employee workforce mobility, organizations need a modern Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to securely and efficiently deliver services where they are needed. Saba Enterprise 2005 represents a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment in state-of-the-art architecture and functionality. The result is a functionally and technically integrated human capital management (HCM) system combining competency-driven Learning, Performance and Succession Management with cross-platform analytics and collaboration capabilities.

The full J2EE Saba Enterprise 2005 platform supports the use of multiple databases (Oracle, IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL*Server), multiple application servers (IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic and Open Source) and multiple operating environments (Microsoft Windows NT, Solaris, Linux and other UNIX operating systems).
