kit to provide enhanced localization. These updates to Saba Enterprise 2005, a next generation HCM solution, expand the learning, performance and talent management capabilities.

Workforce dynamics are changing dramatically as organizations worldwide increasingly rely upon a non-employee workforce, including contractors and partners, to get their jobs done. Further, a growing number of employees -- over half of the 110 million workers in the United States, for example -- are categorized as remote or mobile workers. To meet the demands of an increasingly mobile workforce, organizations need to deliver enterprise applications as services and those services must be delivered wherever they are needed within or across the extended enterprise. These services must be able to cross any network, through any connection, to any type of computing device with the assurance that the information will be transmitted securely to maintain data integrity.

"To address the needs of global extended enterprises, Saba understands that organizations want the flexibility to deliver all people-related information and processes on demand, where and how the information is needed," said Bobby Yazdani, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  and chairman of Saba. "Saba is pleased to introduce the industry's first services on demand solution for human capital management."

New Features for Saba Enterprise 2005

Designed to support the demand for a robust HCM solution, these new features include:

New Service Delivery Options

New service delivery options have been added to support an extended and mobile workforce. With Saba Enterprise 2005, organizations have the flexibility to deliver human capital management services both offline and online, further adapting to the way organizations want and need to work today. Offline delivery capabilities allow mobile users access to learning content via Saba Learning Suite with tracking and synchronization capabilities. "Saba Where You Work" enables users to deploy Saba Enterprise 2005 within Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or enterprise portals, eliminating the need for users to separately launch and enter Saba applications.

Modern, Service-Oriented Architecture

With increasing globalization and employee workforce mobility, organizations need a modern Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to securely and efficiently deliver services where they are needed. Saba Enterprise 2005 represents a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment in state-of-the-art architecture and functionality. The result is a functionally and technically integrated human capital management (HCM) system combining competency-driven Learning, Performance and Succession Management with cross-platform analytics and collaboration capabilities.

Due to the robustness of the extended platform of Saba Enterprise 2005, 80% of customers' changes can be made with configurations versus customizations, enabling faster implementations and lower total cost of future upgrades. The Saba user interface also meets the requirements of Section 508 of Rehabilitation Act to support the needs of employees with disabilities.

International Framework

Due to increasing globalization in the workforce, organizations need software that can be deployed to people all over the world. With Saba Enterprise 2005, Saba has added an internationalization (I18n) kit to enable high quality and rapid delivery of both single byte and double byte languages. The I18n kit will help Saba expand beyond its currently supported languages.
