In the last few days, SaabTech Vetronics has received two orders to supply the UTAAS fire-control system

The two projects will be conducted in parallel, with initial delivery scheduled for the autumn of 2001, and final delivery in the spring of 2005. On completion of the delivery of these systems, the SaabTech Vetronics fire-control system will have been fitted to a combined total of 950 combat vehicles.

UTAAS (Universal Tank and Anti Aircraft System) is a modular fire-control system for the vehicle's turret-mounted gun. The system offers the latest in night-sight technology, featuring an IR camera, and is gyrostabilized with an independent sight line, ensuring high hit probability against all types of target.
