SYSTRAN expands I O IP product offering.

DAYTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1996--SYSTRAN Corp., developer of SYSTRAN's I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.

I/O - Input/Output
Solutions (a suite of IP modules), and the SCRAMNet real-time and FibreXpress Fibre Channel computer communications networks, today announced the addition of a new ADM See add/drop multiplexer.

1224F IP module to their existing line of I/O Solutions.

The ADM1224F differential-input IP module is equipped with differential signals that provide high resolution and increased input signal accuracy. The modular design In the context of systems engineering, modular design — or "modularity in design" — is an approach aiming to subdivide a system into smaller parts (modules) that can be independently created and then used in different systems to drive multiple functionalities.  provides up to 120 channels of high-performance ADCs in a single VME (Virtual Machine Environment) An operating system from Fujitsu Services (formerly ICL) that runs on its Series 39 mainframes. Introduced in 1975, VME is a comprehensive product that provides a variety of utilities for datacenter operations.  slot when using SYSTRAN's VMESC5, a five-IP module, VME carrier.

Features include:

- 24-channel, + or - 10 V, analog-to-digital converter.

- Complete deterministic sampling of all channels.

- A 4-bit frame counter value for determining sampling

sequences.

- Differential signals which provide high resolution and

increased accuracy of the input signal.

- True "on-the-fly" access to the current value table for the

latest ADC (1) See A/D converter.

 data.

- Three sets of multiplexers, instrumentation amplifiers and

ADCs (1 set per 8 channels).

- High common mode rejection provided by differential ended

inputs.

- Analog reference jumpers for all channels to drive either

differential or single-ended inputs (on a per channel basis).

- Gray Code Sequence Engines which minimize on-board digital

noise.

- An embedded ground plane which provides "quiet" operation for

sensitive analog events.

- All on-board filtered power is obtained from the host carrier.

The ADM1224F complies with IndustryPack Logic Interface Specification, Rev. 0.7.1. The price for the ADM1224F is $474.

Other SYSTRAN's I/O Solutions include: carriers, analog interfaces, digital/discrete interfaces, counter/timers, IP module bus extender (1) A board that pushes a printed circuit board out of the way of surrounding boards for testing purposes. It plugs into an expansion slot, and the expansion board plugs into the bus extender.

toolkits, software support packages, and accessories. These I/O devices enable designers to specify and implement solutions with more flexibility than traditional host-based I/O boards. Their small form-factor and generic feature makes them useful for applications such as data acquisition, simulation, instrumentation, and process control.
