SYS Technologies Announces Contract Awards Valued at $4.7M; SYS Gains New Customer within US Navy.

SAN DIEGO -- SYS Technologies, (AMEX: SYS), a leading provider of real time information technology solutions to industrial and U.S. government customers, announced today that it has been awarded two contracts with a combined value of up to $4.7 million.

SYS will be providing logistics and engineering services to the U.S. Navy, in support of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) International Program Office under a contract valued at approximately $3.8 million to be performed over a three-year period. Also on the SYS Team for this effort are Anteon Corporation and Odyssey Systems Consulting Group.

In addition, SYS also announced that it is part of a team headed by CACI International that was recently awarded a $9.8 million task order by the U.S. Navy in support of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) naval electronic defense system program. SYS will perform logistics support and test and evaluation services under this task order with an approximate value of $900,000 of tasking over a four-year period.

MIDS is an advanced, jam-resistant communication system used to digitally transmit tactical information between U.S. and Allied aircraft, ships, and ground forces. The transmission can be either data or voice. MIDS also serves as a navigation aid by providing precise participant location and identification information as part of the tactical data exchanged.
