SYNERGY, SMBC TO MEET.

Synergy -- which includes Valencia graduates Sean Carter, Teddy Goetz and Kevin Ker, along with LaCanada graduate Mike Gaudino -- had to rally to defeat Chicago Select 20-25, 25-14, 15-11 and Team North Texas 22-25, 25-10, 15-8, before holding off Huntington Beach's Surf City Asics 25-23, 22-25, 16-14.

SMBC, led by Thousand Oaks' Cole Reinholm, swept Arizona's Molten Navy and Illinois' Mizuno Sports Performance Runbird to take second behind Missouri Thunder in its pool.
