Holocaust survivors There are many famous Holocaust survivors who survived the Nazi genocides in Europe and went on to achievements of great fame and notability. Those listed here were, at the very least, residents of the parts of Europe occupied by the Axis powers during World War II who survived  who lived under a Nazi regime and meet other criteria can seek $185 million in reparations reparations, payments or other compensation offered as an indemnity for loss or damage. The amount awarded to each individual will depend on the total number of applications approved by an advisory committee, federation officials said.

To receive reparations, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Be a Jew who lived in a country at the time it was under Nazi regime.

Be a legal resident of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

Be in need.

Deadline for applications is Nov. 17, 1998.

The Federation's constituent agency, Jewish Family Service, can help Holocaust survivors complete applications at four locations throughout Los Angeles.
