SWISS BANK CORPORATION LAUNCHES SPONSORED ADR FACILITY WITH MORGAN GUARANTY TRUST COMPANY

 NEW YORK, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Swiss Bank Corporation announced today a sponsored American Depositary Receipt (ADR) Level 1 Program. Ten ADRs of Swiss Bank Corporation are equal to one bearer share. The new ADRs begin trading today in the over-the-counter market (SWBKY).
 Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York, a subsidiary of J.P. Morgan & Co., Inc., will be the depositary for the ADRs. Morgan Guaranty is the world's leading ADR depositary.
 "As strengthening our activities in North America is an important part of our strategy, it is only logical that parallel to this we should want to accommodate U.S. investors to a fuller extent," said Georges Blum, chief executive officer of Swiss Bank Corporation.
 Swiss Bank Corporation is one of the three largest banks in Switzerland and among the 10 largest in Europe. As of June 30, 1993, the bank's published capital and reserves stood at Sfr. 13.9 billion and total assets were Sfr. 204 billion. SBC offers a broad range of financial services to clients based around the world. Its North American businesses include capital markets and treasury activities as well as investment and private banking.
 SBC reports in compliance with new EC disclosure regulations, even though Switzerland is not an EC member.
