SWIMMING: NOTRE DAME'S STEFANEC CONTINUES HER DOMINATION.

Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  High of Sherman Oaks junior Annie Stefanec has all of the physical traits of a top notch swimming sprinter: the long legs, the broad shoulders and the strong arms.

All of those attributes were on display at Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  Aquatic Center on Saturday, along with her fierce determination to win, as Stefanec added two more victories in the 2006 Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Swimming Junior Olympics.

Stefanec, who finishes the individual portion of the Junior Olympics with four victories, took first place in the girls' 15-year-old and over 50-meter freestyle (27.70 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:06.56) for the San Fernando San Fernando, city, Argentina

Stefanec will look to add team victories to those individual achievements today, when the Junior Olympics close with the relay finals.

In other events: Competing for the Santa Clarita Valley-based Canyon Aquatics swim team, Valencia freshman Bob Hwang won his area-best fifth event of the Junior Olympics with a 25.57 clocking in the boys' 13- to 14-year-old 50 freestyle.

Canyon Aquatics swept the top three spots in the event, with teammates Nui Harris (25.59) and Chris Weber (26.03) nearly knocking off Hwang.

Ariana Peschke of the Ventura County-based Class Aquatics swim team finished first in the girls' 11-to 12-year-old 50 freestyle with a clocking of 28.77, while Class Aquatics teammate Haley Preston took first in the girls' 11- to 12-year-old 50 backstroke with a time of 33.07.
