LANCASTER - Jenny Gonzales was a bit suspicious when her husband, Bob, invited her to lunch just before 11 a.m. Monday.

``I thought he might have something planned, but I wasn't sure,'' Gonzales said.

Little did she know that when she entered her husband's City Hall workplace five women would be waiting to deliver a singing Valentine.

``After 16 years of marriage it's still nice he does things for me,'' Gonzalez said. ``It really surprised me. It was wonderful. They were wonderful. I never imagined this. I have such a sweet husband.''

Gonzales was just one of many - men and women - who received singing Valentines from the Harmony Showcase Chorus on perhaps the most romantic day of the year, Valentine's Day Valentine's Day: see Saint Valentine's Day.

``It's wonderful. It really makes everybody happy,'' said Linda Agner, assistant director of the group, which is a part of the Sweet Adelines Sweet Adeline

Each valentine received two songs - ``A Bushel bushel: see English units of measurement.  and a Peck'' and the classic ``Let Me Call You Sweetheart,'' a keepsake rose, a heart filled with candy and a card.

``This is as sweet as can be,'' said Kerry Sabadin, who received a valentine from her husband, Terry, at her workplace at Pinecrest School. ``When they were singing I was thinking how much I love him. We're going on 25 years (of marriage), and he still is as cute cute

``There's not a lot of outlets to sing for women,'' Agner said. ``You can sing in a church choir, but there's nothing really after that, unless you're a professional singer. So this is just another outlet for us.''
