, which was reported by a police officer patrolling the area.

The flames quickly engulfed the three-bedroom home in the 10400 block of Danube Avenue. The bodies were found in one of the bedrooms.

Neighbors say the house in the quiet middle-class neighborhood had been empty for a week. It appeared that there was no electricity in the home, neighbors said.

Judy Madriaga, the home's owner, said she had recently evicted one of the tenants but allowed another one to stay after he said he would be bringing in a different roommate. Fire alarms were installed throughout the house, she said.

One witness said flames engulfed the home in 10 minutes. He said two men had lived in the house and they often had friends come over late at night.

``There were always people going in and out for parties,'' Claudio Von Fresin said.
